MSA Altair 4 Multi Gas Detector
The Altair 4 Multigas detector kit comes with a with quick-start card, data logging, charger, calibration cap, tubing and a CD manual.
This multi gas detector can be equipped with sensors for combustible gases and certain combustible vapors, oxygen-deficient or oxygen-rich atmospheres, or specific toxic gases.
MSA Altair 5 detectors feature a liquid crystal display (LCD) with large and easy to read characters and Icons with backlight for low-light viewing. It provides a bump check page that allows easy testing. When the unit passes the bump check, a checkmark appears on the display for the next 24 hours, making sure that successfully bump-tested instruments are easily verified in the field.
The Li-polymer battery pack that comes with Altair 4 from MSA provides a 16-hour run time with virtually no memory effects and recharges quickly. Furthermore, Li-polymer batteries are able to hold charge for long periods of time, making expensive alkaline batteries redundant and reducing overall cost of ownership.
This MSA multi-gas detector is available with a maximum of three sensors, which can display readings for up to four separate gases simultaneously (one Dual Toxic Sensor provides both CO and H2S sensing capabilities in a single sensor). The combustible gas sensor provides superior sensitivity to longer-chain hydrocarbons which are typically difficult to detect with standard catalytic combustion sensors. It comes in a thick rubber housing that provides a non-slip profile and protects this MSA gas detector from a fall from up to 10 feet.
Economically priced high performance electrochemical sensors used on this Altair 4 multi gas detector from MSA can detect O2, CO, and H2S and are easy to maintain and replace.
The Altair 4 detector features a triple-alarm system with bright LED lights on top and bottom of the unit, making sure that they are visible from all angles. User selectable green LED flashes once every 15 seconds to let workers know that their instruments are working properly. The distinct audible alarm sound level is typically measured in excess of 95 dB at a distance of one foot, while a strong vibrating alarm makes sure that it can be felt even in noisy environments. The optional MotionAlert feature indicates ‘man down’ when the instrument does not detect movement for over 30 seconds. InstantAlert feature comes standard.
MSA Altair 5 Detector's internal memory is capable of recording up to 500 events for quick overview of calibration records and alarm events.
Altair 4 detectors are compatible with the Galaxy® Automated Test System that provides automatic testing, calibration, and record keeping for up to 10 units simultaneously. Test records can be easily accessed through a network or stored on a memory card for retrieval as needed. It is also compatible with the QuickCheck™ Test Station that allows automatic bump-testing of unit with a simple PASS or FAIL indication which helps to reduce human error. All test records are stored and can be retrieved as needed using MSA Link Software.
