Dyneema Gloves

Dyneema is the most widely used and known brand of a ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene which is abbreviated as UHMWPE or UHMW and is commonly used in cut resistant gloves. Yarn made of Dyneema is extremely strong, able to achieve strength in abrasion and cut resistance of up to 15 times higher than carbon steel. It does not absorb water readily and feels slippery and cool against the skin, reducing possible irritation due to friction. Dyneema is widely used in a variety of products including ballistic protection such as bulletproof vests, medical field (for total hip joint replacement) and fibers, such as those used in cut resistant Dyneema gloves

UHMWPE gloves made with Dyneema fibers from DSM offer extremely high strength, offering a strength to weight ratio that is approximately 40% higher than of aramid fibers such as Kevlar, helping to provide superior protection from cuts and punctures when handling blades or other sharp or pointy objects. However, gloves made with Dyneema yarn are not intended for protection from heat as their melting point is around only 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), whereas Kevlar gloves can normally withstand over 500 degrees F.

Legion Safety is excited to offer Dyneema gloves from Ansell, MCR Safety and Superior Glove Works. Please call us if you would like to get additional information about these cut resistant gloves or would like a quote for volume use. We are normally able to provide samples for corporate high-volume users and will be happy to help you select the best-performing Dynema glove for your application.
