CPA Aluminized Kiln Suit
The aluminized kiln suit from Chicago Protective is a highly insulated suit with aluminized Zetex fabric outer shell and internal vapor barrier. Kiln Suits are used in industries where protection from high temperature sources is required and is suitable for protection from steam and hot liquids or vapors. Some of the applications of this heat resistant suit are foudn in refineries, petrochemical plants, foundries and casting plants, basic steel and aluminum industries, glass and ceramic plants, and laboratories. The kiln suits are used for jobs in high heat areas such as kiln or oven maintenance and repair. Each suit includes a hood, coat, pants, boots, mitts and a heavy-duty storage trunk.
The KILN suit is suitable for short duration protection from ambient temperatures of up to 1000°F (530°C) and for exposure to radiant heat up to 2000ºF (1093ºC).
Ambient Heat is the surrounding atmospheric temperature in a given situation while radiant heat is generated by the sun or another source of fire or heat, such as a fireplace or furnace, and is absorbed by masses of material struck by the heat rays.
ALWAYS have two people suited with kiln suits and prepared to work in relays or to aid each other.
Hood: Designed like the fire entry hood. Hardened aluminum window frame with tempered glass lenses.
Coat: Aluminized coat designed to be worn with a breathing apparatus. Features a double storm fly front and a flame seal with drawstring at coat bottom.
Pants: High waist desigm pants with Zetex Plus reinforced knee pads, 2-inch wide adjustable suspenders and adjustable straps on leg bottoms.
Overshoes: Feature a heavy insulated upper boot cover with zipper and storm fly. Designed to fit over work shoes. Adjustable tightening straps, 1-inch wooden sole with anti-skid bottoms. Inside leather toe and ankle adjustable straps. ZETEX PLUS® binding.
Mitts: ZETEX PLUS® palm and thumb mittens with aluminized back and cuff.
